The 4.826” long rod in standard width journal will fit the 1500 Pre x/flow and 1558 twin cam. It is .026” longer than the standard factory rod which puts the piston close to the top of the bore. This creates a tighter squish area helping with combustion.

The 5.230” long Narrow journal rod has been used in most racing Cosworth BD motors. This long rod combined with our short deck piston makes for a very strong short motor. This extra length gives a better rod to stroke ratio of 1.826 compared to 1.685 of the standard rod. Less rod angularity gives the crank an easier life and in effect slows the piston in and out of TDC allowing better fuelling at high rpm.
